HAIFA

Haifa is the capital of the north. A visit to Haifa is an experience offering a variety of unique sites and attractions that form a part of Haifa's beautyful landscape and the views that can be seen from every corner of the city, whose residents welcome visitors and are always ready and willing to help. Haifa offers visitors a combination of natural beauty and a lively, modern city. Haifa is located an hour drive from Tel Aviv (100 km), 120 km from Ben Gurion Airport, 440 km from Eilat and about 150 km from Jerusalem.

Geography, Climate, etc.:
Haifa is the main city of northern Israel and the third-largest city in the country, with a population of about 267,800 (as of May 2006). It is a seaport, located below and on Mount Carmel, and lies on the Mediterranean coast. Haifa has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cold, rainy winters. The average temperature in summer is 26 °C and in winter, 12 °C. Snow is rare in Haifa, but temperatures around 6 °C can sometimes occur, though usually in the early morning. The wet season is from October to April.
